GYMPIE REMOVES TOXIN
A south-east Queensland council has become the second region in the state to scrap fluoride from its water supply in less than 12 months.
Gympie councillors voted five to three to end the measure on Wednesday, in a decision the Mayor Glen Hartwig said would save ratepayers $255,000 a year.
“I don’t think we’re pandering to the conspiracy theorists. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, and we should have a respectful conversation in a democracy.”
Gympie councillor, Allona Lahn, said locals should have the choice of what was in their water.
“There are many countries around the world that don’t have fluoride,” she said to reporters.
“The science isn’t settled and I believe like smoking, asbestos, thalidomide and things like that, the science will prove down the track that maybe it’s not as safe and effective as we’re being told.”

Allona is a long-standing pro-choice advocate across a number of topics, previously appearing on our Member Circle Podcast before going into local politics.
She is an example of ‘being the change you want to see in the world’, and this is a great result for the region – not just in savings for ratepayers, but also for better health.
Under Queensland law, the council must give residents 30 days’ notice before it can begin the decommissioning process. The council expects this to be complete by June next year.
The fluoride pushback continues in Queensland, a state that has become champions of resistance against the dumping of this neurotoxin in our water supplies.
In February, Cook Shire Council in the state’s Far North also voted to remove fluoride, while the Cairns council voted not to reinstate fluoride in their water supply in December last year.
Last month, Banana Shire Council in Central Queensland was the next region to decommission its fluoride dosing facilities, which have not been operational since 2020.
The world is continuing to wake up, as more information continues to emerge publicly.
THE FLUORIDE PUSHBACK
Queensland has been at the forefront of Australia’s fight against fluoride for over a decade.
In 2012, the state government handed individual councils the power to choose whether to fluoridate their water, in a move we covered here on the website at the time:

Today, of the state’s 77 local government areas, only 23 have fluoridated water, despite the majority of the state’s population being covered because the entire south-east has fluoride.
There are still more regions that are escaping this, giving people an option if they can’t filter water for themselves at home like I do in the south-east.
The move has alarmed health ‘experts’ and reignited the debate over whether the choice should have been taken out of the council’s hands.
For the past few years, dentists and doctors across the state have been criticising what they view as “a major public health failure”, calling for it to be mandated again.

Meanwhile overseas – under RFK Jnr. and the Make America Healthy Again campaign – mass fluoridation is suffering its biggest fight since the scheme began.
In July, the FDA said they will move forward with plans to ban fluoride supplements nationwide, while RFK Jr. will advise the CDC to no longer recommend fluoride in water.

The push to restrict access to fluoride supplements follows efforts to ban fluoride from drinking water across the country. These campaigns have been successful in Utah and Florida, which both banned fluoride from drinking water this year.

This report, a 6-year National Toxicology Program (NTP) review of fluoride neurotoxicity, was blocked from public release by the U.S Health and Human Services (HHS).
It showed, after reviewing existing research on the topic for their discussions, that prenatal and early life fluoride exposures can reduce IQ and impact the developing brains of children.
We have all known this for years after reading these studies ourselves, and once the HHS came to the same conclusion, they tried to bury the revelations.
Well done to Gympie, Allona and the team, after becoming the latest region on the Queensland list to take back control of their water supplies.
Now for the rest of Australia!

Good on Allona et al. Fluoride should never have been added to drinking water anywhere in th first place. The original studies that “showed” that it reduced dental caries were rubbish. It is a neurotoxin, increases bone fragility, etc. Queensland leading the way on removing this toxin from drinking water in Australia…well done!
Wow!
