The biometric dystopia grows.
DIGITAL ID EXPANSION
The Australian government has committed $654.3 million to expand the nation’s Digital ID System as part of the 2026-27 Federal Budget, signalling a major acceleration in the country’s push towards “integrated digital public services”.

The funding package forms part of a broader ‘productivity and public sector modernisation’ agenda unveiled in the budget, with ministers arguing that the initiative will “streamline access to government services, reduce fraud, and strengthen cyber security protections’.
Under the plan, the National Digital ID System will be expanded across hundreds of Commonwealth services, allowing Australians to “verify their identity online through a single trusted platform”, rather than repeatedly submitting documents to multiple agencies.

According to budget papers, the investment is designed to support the government’s “tell us once” approach to public administration, allow citizens to update their details a single time across connected government systems, reducing duplication and ‘administrative burden’.
The government has framedthe initiative as an “efficiency reform” and a “security measure”, with ministers arguing the system will help ‘lower the risk of large-scale data breaches’.

A significant proportion of the funding – approximately $357.4 million over four years – has been allocated to the Australian Taxation Office to continue operating and enhancing the myID platform and the Relationship Authorisation Manager.
The applications are already widely used by businesses and tax professionals to access government services, and are the underpinning platforms driving Digital ID.
The broader Digital ID expansion is expected to reach more than 250 online government services, including functions linked to taxation, health, social services, and business.
The announcement builds on the passage of the Digital ID Act 2024, legislation that established the legal framework for the government’s Digital ID System.

The bill introduced ‘accreditation rules’, ‘privacy safeguards’, and ‘oversight mechanisms’ intended to govern how accredited providers collect, store, and share information.
Supporters of the initiative say the reforms bring Australia “closer into line” with other jurisdictions that have expanded digital identity frameworks in recent years, including parts of Europe and Asia-Pacific, where digital credentials are increasingly used to access services.

However, anyone with a functioning brain can see what problems Digital ID is likely to pose to key issues like privacy, surveillance, and the concentration of personal data.
Especially in a world with constant data hacks and breaches of sensitive information.
Cyber security experts have previously warned that any large-scale digital identity infrastructure could become an attractive target for cyber criminals if not properly secured.
Australia has experienced a series of major cyber incidents in recent years, including high-profile breaches affecting telecommunications, healthcare, and financial services organisations – prompting increased focus on secure authentication systems.

Others have raised concerns about the potential for “function creep” – where systems introduced for ‘limited administrative purposes’ gradually expand into wider forms of monitoring or mandatory identification.
The government has repeatedly stressed that participation in the Digital ID System will remain voluntary, and that individuals will retain control over what information is shared.
For now, at least.
Further details on implementation timelines and agency participation are expected to emerge over the coming months, as the government begins rolling out the next phase of their dystopian Digital ID programme – a dangerous path to be heading on.
The future goal is to connect every Australian to this centralised database, through incremental creeps, as a way to track and trace behaviours, movements, and opinions.
We are heading full steam into an abyss the likes the world has never seen.
THE DYSTOPIA ARRIVES
After many years of being called a ‘conspiracy theorist’ for warning of an impending Digital ID nightmare, the systems are finally here and are expanding.
We first raised alarms bells in 2020 that a system was coming, after the government announced a $200 million push to get the programme up and running.

Today, the government claims there are now over 15 million myID accounts set up in the Digital ID ecosystem in the first twelve months since the commencement of the legislation.

In the last year, 80 million “ID verified transactions” are reported to have flowed through the Australian Government Digital ID System (AGDIS).

That’s more than half of the Australian population now on board with Digital ID.
Many don’t have a choice, in all fairness – as the government and business services are linked into identification requirements for workplaces, banks, and with state programs.
For example, If you wish to set up a business in Australia, you must register for a government-issued ‘Director ID’ verification number via myID.

That’s right, we didn’t even have a concrete framework in place to ensure all checks and balances are correct before launching Digital ID – typical Orwellian Australia.
They couldn’t really care less, because they don’t want to be held accountable for these systems. They want to stay far ahead of any legal hinderances that may pop up.
For you see, the ultimate goal of digital identity is total electronic control of society, to be linked with AI systems into advanced social credit monitoring capabilities.

Brilliant, John!
Avoid as long as possible! So they can always find millions for this type of thing but not help everyday Australians with lowering cost of living.
As far as I am concerned this digital I.D. system is the ‘mark of the beast’. I’m not religious, but this is all too uncomfortable and evil IMO. I feel for all the younger people here as they still have a full life to live. Our children are in their forties and still have a life ahead of them. I just wonder what sort of a life are they going to have in the next few years. I also feel for the young families just starting out with babies and young children. This civilisation is crumbling before our eyes and is morally bankrupt and yet our governments main concerns are worrying about so-called hate speech and anti-semitism (they don’t know the meaning of semitism) and in WA, apparently, the Premier here wants to set up a missile manufacturing hub down in the south west. This is their priorities, not the housing crisis, not the homeless and not the oil/fuel/diesel crisis, but digital I.D. Just shows you they don’t care one whit/iota about you or any other Australian.
These traitors to Australia are not “Right Honourable”.
I don’t recall ever being asked whether I want this program.
I try to avoid as much as possible.
