Lying has always been an essential ingredient in political campaigning to cover up corruption, past mistakes and hidden motives. However, political lies sometimes take on a much more sinister form, becoming all-encompassing and infecting every corner of society.

  1. “Kim Jong Dan is naked!” Aaargh, I recoil at this image…he looks bad enough fully clothed.
    The Academy of Ideas always nails it. Havel: “Because the regime is captive to its own lies, it falsifies everything”. We are seeing this now in Australia/Ozcatraz. I try to live (under covid) according to Solzhenitsyn’s “Live not by lies”.
    They may have been “The Plastic People of the Universe” but their resolve was steely. Any anti-covid musicians/bands in Oz now? Van Morrison, come on down!
