THE AUCTIONS COMMENCE
ACMA, the Australian government’s statutory authority for communications, has commenced anticipated auctions for 5G millimetre wave (mmWave) spectrum licenses across the country.
Use of these spectrums will be granted to the highest bidders after the auctions have concluded.
During this process, ACMA is set to profit enormously from the sale of 5G licences, adding to the billions of dollars already made from spectrum license sales of previous generations.
According to the ACMA document, 26-GHz band auction, April 2021, Auction guide’, there are 360 lots on offer in the auction. ACMA has also set the starting price for the lots of each:

That’s right, a total of $16,584,000 is the minimum total starting bid for these auctions.
5G is a money-making machine for authorities.
“Today is an extremely concerning day in Australia [with] the advancement of the Fifth Generation (5G) roll-out”, campaigners We Are Not Sam said.
“What the mainstream media ought to be reporting on is the fact that Big Telco are moving ahead with experimental millimetre wave technology against the will of the people!”
They are not wrong.
ACMA doesn’t even seem to care about what is used in the spectrums once they are sold, or even the specifications surrounding how those things would be used.
Check out this blatant free-for-all flexibility from our so-called ‘watchdog’:
“The 26 GHz band spectrum license has inherent flexibility that allows winning bidders to choose how they deploy service in the spectrum they win. Licensees are able to determine the services they deliver and the technology they employ.
They may accommodate the operation of a particular standard (or even non-standard equipment) at a particular location and frequency, depending on the total bandwidth and area of the spectrum licence that a bidder has acquired.”
This comment alone shows an alarming disregard for the Precautionary Principle in relation to the public’s exposure to wireless radiation, and sums up ACMA’s care for accountability.
The 26-GHz band was a millimetre wave (mmWave) band considered for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) allocation at the World Radiocommunications Conference in 2019.
It is a milestone towards international agreement on the band for 5G wireless broadband technologies, and it was only a matter of time before this news reached Australia.
LICENSE HOLDERS READY
The Minister for Communications, Urban Infrastructure, Cities and the Arts declared the 26 GHz band (frequency range 25.1–27.5 GHz) for re-allocation in 2019, issuing spectrum licences in 29 cities and regional centres. Over the next 12 months, as 5G continued its rollout, plans for auction began.
Companies would apply for the opportunity to bid on licences when auctions begin in April 2021.
Soon after, ACMA would announce the first major allocation of 5G mmWave spectrum and the bidders that will partake in this process, as we reported in January.
This is the major move that is expected to ‘unlock’ the potential of 5G.
The following companies were all offered a license in the 26 GHz and 28 GHz bands:
- MarchNet
- Dreamtilt
- Field Solutions Group
- Opticomm
- Nokia
- NBN Co
- Optus
- Telstra
- Vocus
- Starlink (SpaceX)
- WorldVu (One Web)
- Inmarsat, Viasat
- O3B/SES S.A
- New Skies Satellites/SES
Space X are on this list given their recent calls for satellite expansion in Australia.
ACMA said that this list of applicants intends to provide wireless broadband services across all states and territories, as well as across urban, regional and rural areas.
There was also considerable uptake from fixed satellite service providers across Australia, including from existing providers and new entrants to the Australian satellite market.
“mmWave can enable the transfer of large amounts of data with minimal delay – allowing faster digital communication and new opportunities for connectivity and innovative uses supporting Australia’s digital transformation,” ACMA said in a release.
Now, the time has arrived. The bidding begins and the planned rollout continues on.
What can we do to stop such a progression? How can be fight back against this digital push?
FIGHTING BACK
Mobile phone users are being urged to boycott the next generation of 5G phones, while also sharing to family and friends who may be sceptical the process of so-called ‘safety standards’.
It was not widely known that the international telecommunications industry conducts safety tests about the heating effects of mobile phone wireless radiation on a plastic dummy called ‘SAM’.
Or, also known as a Specific Anthropomorphic Mannequin:
During the test, which has not changed since the mid-nineties, the SAM plastic head is filled with liquid to see if it heats up one degree Celsius within a 6-minute call. SAM is based on a 100kg, six-foot tall adult male military recruit with a five-kilogram head.
If the liquid heats under one-degree within that time, the phone is deemed “safe” and ready for sale.
“The problem is that only 3% of the population fit the profile of SAM. Most people, such as women, children and the elderly, have smaller and thinner skulls than SAM, which means they will absorb substantially more radiation,” We Are Not SAM said.
Campaigns are calling on mobile phone users to demand better safety tests and “help expose the dummy in the room” by boycotting 5G phones and signing the following petition:
We Are Not SAM has gained the support of leading independent electromagnetic radiation scientists and doctors across the world, along with high-profile activists.
These include Robert F Kennedy Jr (founder and chairman of the Children’s Health Defense), Dr. Devra Davis (President of the Environmental Health Trust), Dr. Olle Johansson (a global authority on EMF radiation) and many more.
“Technology can either be used to bring value to our lives, or as a destructive force. We urge people to start questioning the way they’re using their wireless devices, and what kind of agenda the telco industry is driving,” said the group.
It has never been a better time to join a local 5G community action group and start taking action.
As the 5G train rolls ahead, there is still time to turn the tide.
It is time human health is chosen over massive profits.

Can anyone bid on this? Perhaps we can win the auction and then just sit on the ‘asset’ and not use it. Just a thought.
More harmful, totalitarian techno-bullshit foisted upon the largely unsuspecting populace.
Terminator Judgement day , these times are soon upon us
So if the spectrum has not been auctioned then how is 5G working across Australia now
Hi there, thank you for your question. The current ‘5G’ we see across Australia is 4GX with boosters added by the telecommunications companies. We are (thankfully) far behind the rest of the world is this regard. Once the spectrums are allocated, then we will see the full power of this technology.
