5G technology is beginning to be introduced in Australia, despite backlash across the world against an evolving technology that remains largely untested and unregulated for safety concerns.

This week, Telstra have launched a 5G hotspot enabled mobile phone device, marking the beginning of the next generation rollout expected to be fully culminated by all telecommunications companies in 2020.

Many Australians have been expressing concerns about the dangers of 5G technology, and are backed by experts who have warned of the carcinogenic effects of Electro-Magnetic Frequencies (EMF).

As a result of a lack of transparency and failure to adhere to safety testing by Australian authorities prior to the rollout, many community groups have formed to share information relating to 5G and to take action by hosting local events to connect with like-minded citizens.
