HATE SPEECH LAWS PASSED
Australia has passed strict laws to combat hate crimes, introducing mandatory minimum sentences for a range of ‘terrorism’ offences and the “displaying hate symbols”.
The Criminal Code Amendment (Hate Crimes) Bill 2025 creates new criminal offences for ‘hate crimes’ and “makes clear that advocating or threatening the use of force and violence is unacceptable and will be subject to serious criminal penalties”.
The new laws, passed today and which we discussed on the latest podcast, include a minimum six-year prison sentences for terrorism offenses, and at least 12-month sentences for less serious hate crimes – such as giving a Nazi salute in public.
The changes were first proposed by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s Labor government last year amid an uptick in antisemitic attacks and calls for tougher penalties for offenders.
At the time, the proposed legislation didn’t include mandatory sentencing, which Albanese has previously vehemently opposed.
However, this week the government finally relented following criticism from Albanese’s political opponents that he wasn’t doing enough to combat antisemitism.
When asked if he’d “backflipped” on the issue, the prime minister told CNN affiliate Sky News he wanted people “engaged in antisemitism to be held to account.”
The Law Council of Australia said it was “extremely disappointed” that mandatory sentencing had been included.
“Mandatory sentencing laws are arbitrary and limit the individual’s right to a fair trial by preventing judges from imposing a just penalty based on the unique circumstances of each offense and offender,” council President Juliana Warner said in a statement.
In late-January, after a series of ‘antisemitic attacks’ in Sydney and Melbourne, authorities said they had foiled a potential “mass casualty” attack of a trailer packed with explosives in northwest Sydney, and “some indications” it was to be used against the Jewish community.
Special Operation Avalite was formed to address ‘rising antisemitism’ in mid-December, Jewish leaders have been demanding more action from government officials.
Now, here we are.
Not only has the War Hoax divided society, but ‘attacks’ are now being used to bring in laws that will be used for much more than ‘protecting the Jewish community’.
Under the surface, a totalitarian system of pre-crime surveillance is emerging that has the potential to transform our free societies if left unchecked.
THE END OF FREE EXPRESSION
For years now, Australia has been on a concerning path away from the principles of freedom that this country was built on, especially when it comes to beliefs and expressions.
Slowly, year by year, more civil rights are eroded in the same of ‘safety and security’. Yet despite how much power they get, it seemingly is never enough to stop the crimes. Why is that?
Politicians, who are supposed to be our ‘representatives’, are all bought-and-paid-for; chameleons who change their colours and never possess a genuine bone in their bodies.
For example, back when Tony Abbott was Prime Minister, there was a big (ultimately unsuccessful) push against Section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act.
This civil law prohibits acts “likely to offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate someone because of their race or ethnicity”. At the very least, libertarians wanted it re-worded to remove “offend” and “insult”, which certainly draw a very dystopian line.
Before entering Parliament, James Paterson worked for the Institute of Public Affairs, which spearheaded attacks on 18C. Even after becoming a Senator in 2016, Paterson remained a strong critic of 18C (although he always supported laws against incitement to violence).
Now, as Home Affairs spokesman, Paterson has been at the forefront of the opposition efforts to make the new hate speech law as strong as possible.
The many actors of The Party simply play their roles in the geopolitical theatre show. Even the so-called ‘independent party heroes’ were in support of this:

In Oceania, the totalitarian setting of George Orwell’s novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, to meet the ideological requirements of English Socialism — or Ingsoc — the ruling Party created Newspeak, a controlled language of restricted grammar and limited vocabulary.
The ultimate aim of Newspeak was to limit the freedom of thought — personal identity, self-expression, free will — that threatens the ideology of the regime of Big Brother and the Party, who have criminalised such concepts into ‘Thoughtcrime’.
In the modern world, with PC culture, reductionist language has been designed to diminish vocabulary and amputate nuance until citizens are unable to express independent, heretical thinking. Language control – and language control is thought control.
When do things start to drift into ‘pre-crime’ levels of dystopia?
And, without a federal Human Rights Bill here in Australia, our country is subject to continue our path as a key Pacific test bed for the New World Order.
The Albanese regime will be remembered as one that changed the course of Australian history with radical and anti-democratic pieces of legislation.
