Yet another vaccine rolled out to the public.
RSV VACCINE MADE FREE
It has been announced that pregnant women in Australia will be eligible for a free RSV vaccine under the National Immunisation Program from today, February 3rd.
This vaccine, according to the press release, is “designed to protect young infants from severe RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) by generating the production of antibodies against RSV in the mother”.
While the RSV vaccine is a new addition to the National Immunisation Program, it’s one of three vaccines provided free for pregnant women under the program, alongside ones for influenza and whooping cough.
Each “offers important protection for newborn babies”, say the ‘experts’.
RSV is reportedly the most common cause of lower respiratory infections (bronchiolitis and pneumonia) in infants. It’s estimated that of every 100 infants born in Australia each year, say the ‘experts’.
According to the official story, GPs say they’re continuing to see respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in summer after Australia experienced a record 175,786 cases nationwide in 2024.
A total of 86,205 (49 per cent) of those diagnosed were young children under four years old, according to the National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System.
Symptoms include fever, a runny nose, a severe cough, difficulty breathing, sneezing and headache. Or in worse cases, it can lead to serious chest infections, breathing problems and respiratory problems, such as asthma.
We will get into just how necessary this jab is for such symptoms in a minute, and whether the jab will lead to even worse problems for those who take it. But first let’s take a look at the jabs now approved in Australia.
For pregnant women in Australia, they will be able to access the jab in question, Abrysvo, for free. The vaccine is recommended from 28 to 36 weeks of pregnancy, and it ‘protects newborn babies from RSV’.
This is in utero, but others are also available you may not be aware of:
Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has also approved the RSV vaccine Beyfortus (Nirsevimab) for the following babies and children:
- Newborns and infants born just before or during their first RSV season.
- Children up to 24 months old who are at risk of severe RSV disease through their second RSV season.
Beyfortus will be available free for eligible infants and children from April 1.
Finally, the TGA has also recently approved an RSV vaccine called Arexvy for adults over the age of 60. It is not yet known when this vaccine will be available to the public.
Yes, three vaccines are now on the market, covering all ‘high risk’ ranges (even those not yet born).
As always, concerns remain over the effectiveness and safety of these vaccines.
IS IT SAFE?
We first reported on plans to unveil this jab for pregnant women back in 2022, which at the time was described as the end 20-year project to create the world’s first RSV vaccine. Yes, two decades in the making.
In 2023, the vaccine was declared “safe and effective” following Phase 3 trials by Pfizer — yes, Pfizer — given to women who were between 24 and 36 weeks pregnant.
Given the manufacturer involved, you may be rightly asking if this vaccine is indeed ‘safe’ like they claim.
Well, it turns out RSV vaccines have the potential to trigger a serious neurological condition.
The alert, issued by U.S health chiefs, said results of an American study suggested two types of RSV jab (the ones approved in Australia) carry a significant increased risk of Guillain-Barré syndrome — a disabling condition that causes damage to nerves — 42 days after vaccination.
While still recommending the jabs for eligible adults, FDA officials said Guillain-Barré syndrome would now be listed as a risk in leaflets given to patients.
“FDA has required and approved safety labeling changes to the Prescribing Information for Abrysvo (Respiratory Syncytial Virus Vaccine) manufactured by Pfizer Inc. and Arexvy (Respiratory Syncytial Virus Vaccine, Adjuvanted) manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals.
Specifically, FDA has required each manufacturer to include a new warning about the risk for Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) following administration of their Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine.”
In the U.K, the condition is already noted as a potential complication in patient information. However, as we all know, not all of those who receive the jab will be warned verbally of the risks.
It gets even more interesting when you look at the syndrome itself.
Guillain-Barré syndrome is a poorly understood condition. It occurs when the body’s immune system, which normally protects people from infection, ‘mistakenly’ attacks healthy nerve cells.
Initial signs include a tingling and numbness in the hands and feet, which is followed by muscle weakness and difficulties moving in the following weeks.
In some cases, it can lead to problems breathing, facial paralysis and impaired vision.
Why has there been such an uptick in RSV cases since COVID?
Perhaps we should re-examiner the damage that the jabs did to infants and children under 5 years of age.
Now, considering they say RSV symptoms are similar to COVID symptoms, how do we not know this isn’t the same merry-go-round to uptake more biopharma shares in 2025?
