Bill Gates has re-emerged from his cave to raise ‘concerns’ about the potential dangers of artificial intelligence, warning that the technology could become ‘powerful enough to contribute to events resulting in a billion deaths’.

His comments come amid growing international debate over how to manage AI’s rapid development, while protecting humanity from its most serious risks.

So, a man who could give less of a care about humanity or our protection speaks out.

Gates describes a worst-case scenario in which increasingly sophisticated AI systems could enable individuals or groups to cause destruction on a scale previously associated with major ‘wars’, ‘devastating pandemics’, or other global disasters.

Many of which he has been responsible for, mind you.

He says one of the most ‘significant risks’ involves biological threats, with AI assisting researchers in analysing complex biological information and scientific discovery.

These capabilities could potentially be misused by malicious individuals seeking information about dangerous pathogens or toxins, according to Gates.

AI can also assist criminals to develop more sophisticated cyber and infrastructure attacks, says Gates, including against electricity networks, hospitals, water supplies, and financial systems – disrupting daily life and endangering lives.

Very interesting thoughts to put out in the public sphere.

He says the figure of one billion deaths should be understood ‘as an illustration of the potential scale of a catastrophe’, rather than an established forecast.

Nevertheless, these comments have certainly got me thinking: Will AI be used as a false flag to bring about the destruction of humanity under its name?

Could a mysterious ‘rogue agent’ that crashes financial systems and trusted digital platforms actually be a Cyber Polygon-type team in disguise?

It certainly makes you think.

We all know that Bill Gates and others in his circle are quite happy to see the reduction of one billion people from the planet – a key pillar of their underlying visions for years.

Not only could this technology be used as a way to transform the world, but governments would subsequently be forced to introduce stronger regulatory frameworks to ensure that companies developing AI systems are accountable.

Let’s not forget that Bill Gates himself has called for a global system of governance for artificial intelligence, and if AI suddenly becomes a massive threat, this could lead to the ‘unification’ of nation states they have dreamed of for so long.
