What does the future of news hold?
ABC ADOPTS CLAUDE
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) has announced a partnership with leading artificial intelligence company, Anthropic, to introduce their platform Claude as an enterprise AI tool for internal use by journalists across the public broadcaster.
The move forms part of the ABC’s broader effort to “explore how artificial intelligence can support staff” while “maintaining editorial standards, transparency, and human oversight”.

Claude, Anthropic’s AI assistant, will be made available to ‘assist with a range of workplace tasks’, including research, drafting, summarising information, and ‘improving workflows’.
The introduction of the technology has raised concerns that Claude may one day be a replacement for journalists or editorial decision-making, although the ABC has emphasised that AI tools are intended to ‘support staff’, rather than take over responsibilities.

Under the enterprise arrangement, ABC employees will be able to use Claude within a ‘controlled workplace environment’, rather than relying solely on publicly available AI services. Enterprise AI platforms typically provide organisations with additional security, management, and privacy controls designed to protect information and regulate use.
Potential uses across the ABC could include helping staff process large amounts of information, prepare documents, generate ideas, summarise interviews, or assist with routine tasks. For example, a journalist could use AI to organise notes from research material, while production teams could use it to support planning and administrative work.

Just when you thought the state of Australian journalism couldn’t get an worse.
As we will explore, we have already been here for some time now – with multiple organisations already using the technology to create more programmed headlines.
But for our public broadcaster to now also make the shift towards AI?
This just shows you exactly where the industry is headed.
The ABC’s approach reflects a wider trend among media organisations seeking to ‘benefit’ from artificial intelligence. But AI-generated content still requires careful review.
Like other generative AI systems, Claude can produce inaccurate or incomplete information, meaning employees must assess and verify its outputs before relying on them.
The ABC has also developed internal guidance around ‘responsible AI use’, focusing on transparency, fairness, protection of information, and maintaining editorial independence.

But how “independent” is it when content is being developed by a machine?
A closed model that is trained by a centralised offshore company, mind you?
Anthropic’s Claude is part of a rapidly expanding market of workplace AI assistants, alongside tools developed by companies such as Microsoft and OpenAI.
Organisations across government, media, and business sectors are increasingly experimenting with these systems to ‘improve efficiency’ and ‘support employees’.
Mainstream journalism is dead – with mass layoffs happening across the country – and the replacements will soon be the AI bots. Bots that filter information to our senses.
With journalists trained to not think of organic ideas of their own, they will soon be delegated to a ‘middle man creationist’ that facilitates the machine’s vision.
Journalism was once the most important role on Earth, and people took pride in documenting reality to share with the public – but not any longer.
Now, you will never know if a person or an AI algorithm is serving you the daily news.
AI IN NEWS
AI is increasingly becoming part of the machinery through which Australian journalism is produced, even when the final article is still written and signed off by a human journalist.
Research recently found that Australian newsrooms have moved from experimentation phases towards actual deployment of the technology over the past year.

Not all are happy about it. A 2024 survey of more than 800 Australian journalists found that 74% had not personally used generative AI for their work, while 79% were concerned about its effect on journalism’s integrity or quality.

But the major companies have pushed ahead anyway.
News Corp Australia is probably the clearest example of aggressive adoption.
It has been using AI to produce local news since 2023.
In 2025, the organisation announced NewsGPT, an internal generative-AI tool intended to ‘support newsroom work’ and ‘streamline’ the flow of information.

Nine Entertainment has also been implementing AI technologies across its newsrooms and production operations. Recent reporting indicates that AI is being used as part of a broader effort to “automate and streamline production”.

For regional locations, the Australian Community Media (ACM) is experimenting with generative AI in its regional newsrooms as well.
That rollout has generated significant concern among journalists because of problems including incorrect attribution and misleading outputs – illustrating why adoption isn’t simply a matter of “plug in ChatGPT and publish”.

Indeed, the ‘future is here’, folks – one that sees the evolution of a digital vortex completely containing warped information and algorithmic spellcasting.
Things will only increase in scale, as well.
Let’s not forget that Australia is rapidly emerging as a major hub for artificial intelligence infrastructure, with billions of dollars being committed to new data centres.

RELATED FEATURE
Not only will AI physically impact our resources, such as energy and water, but will also accelerate the complete robotic replacement of the journalism industry.
We have already witnessed the beginning of the Androidification of news content, and it will only be a matter of time before that is the only option left.
Apart from right here on TOTT News, of course.
You will be stuck listening to the ramblings of a human for some time to come.

The ‘NEWS’ is already CONtrived bias’d crap (Apart from entertainment value, does anyone actually watch it anyway?!). Now, with the introduction of A.I., it’ll be ‘E’ bias’d crap, with less lower ranked carbon life forms required/ Or ‘Getting in the way’ – in case of Moral ‘Constraints’ or ethical issues (Remember ‘Google’, initially ‘Knocked back’ Project Maven [A.I. ‘Auto Kill’ systems without ‘Required’ human authorisation, nor oversight – Now run by Palantir Technologies]) = A.I. Media; Just like customer self scanning/CCTV laden supermarkets – I’ll just avoid them and find alternates!
The AU$ Billion per year ‘Aunty’, has long been a NotMyGov.Con/Small hat lobby Group/Private Partner Soap box platform, with little cost/benefit ratio, nor any real knowledge for the General population – Except indoctrinNation of the Feeble minded and productions of cyclic diminishing all metric return. Parliamentry question time IS still ‘Educational’ = It shows How Badly a country can be ‘Run’, and reflects on Ignorant, professionally unworldly characters still operating the Swill bin of OZtopian ‘Animal Farm’, and providing endless ‘Gerry Gee’ doll candidates for Foreign agenda consumptions. HOORAH! Rubbery Figures indeed.
ABC – Just Byte me!
For those still wondering – THE ‘Cloud’ storage, IS just someone else’s Computer, where you ‘Volunteer’ to hand over your data (Along with it’s ‘Ownership’). It is Not, a Jesus run Data centre in the Skyline/space, above the Chemtrails.
NewsGPT; ‘News’ (Laughable – More like pathetic – Slick swill) Gross Propaganda Tech. And, does this mean that A.I., will be using more CGI, to carry the WWB (White Wash Bucket – Not >World War Bullshit and ‘E’ book burning) CONstruct?
Last; Artificial ‘Intelligence’ = NO such thing! THE ‘Intelligence’ is just accumulated info in data Silos – ‘Crunched’ by processing units, then acted upon – It is not ‘Intelligent’ (Maybe akin to some of the Carbon ‘Drones’ circulating about). UM. Will E Karen > J. I-Gr be overseeing GPT ‘Content’ to see if it ‘Integrates’ with Online Agendas? Seems she missed Israeli Ben -Gvir’s (Lawyer, politician, Govt Minister)references to Palestinians as being> quote; “Less than Animals!” I guess A.I. News WILL Pick that up, instead, and – Give appropriate warnings and Infringements per similar Anti-Semitic biases! LOL!
Of course the usual; WHERE are all of the Energy/Utility consumptions of these NEO Wunderbar Techs being Stolen from – OH! The usual public purse and Population systems denegrations@large! So its Business as usual = Corporatising the profit, Socialising the debt! I’ll get A.I. to just add a couple of ‘Zeros’ & change, to the National debt – Job Done!
Wellness
News is already bad so this will not make it more honest. Recently a protest against Pauline Hanson was reported on a news source online using a photo of a completely different protest from years ago, of course the crowd looked bigger than it was. We cannot trust the fake news.
Final nail in the coffin of corporate media journalism?
More ‘Rome’N’ games at Circus Can’tBerra, featuring ABC’s(for Any still literate Australians) introduction of the Modern reHash of A.>I ClaudeEous. The lineage Tyrant reproductions – remain the same> A.I generated or not.
And, ‘Who Guards the Guards.’ – Still relevant, no matter what ‘Synthetic’ Camo is used.
Next; The Cost/benefit ratio of Public purse continuous financial ‘Props’ to Aunty, for population cultural uplifting and information has finally reached Historical Adolph’s observed description; Aka;
“It is the press, above all, which wages a positively fanatical and slanderous struggle, tearing down everything which can be regarded as a support of national independence, cultural elevation, and the economic independence of the nation.”
― Adolf Hitler, History, appears Cyclic after all.
Last; I want my tax contributions to Aunty (ABC) Back!! Maybe – plus compensation for Mental trauma, produced therein! The ‘Clever Country’ indeed. LOL!
