AMAZON’S ROBOTIC STRATEGY
Amazon layoffs are back in focus after leaked internal documents revealed plans to replace up to 600,000 U.S. workers with robots by 2027.
The company’s automation blueprint shows plans to target 75% of robotic operations, in an attempt to save $12.6 billion in labour costs between 2025 and 2027.
The tech giant denies a mass layoff plan, but confirms ongoing automation investments “continue to reshape its U.S. workforce”.
If the 75% figure is accurate, this could mean as many as 600,000 jobs might be replaced by 2027, signalling one of the largest labour transformations in U.S. corporate history.
If the projections hold true, the company’s U.S. workforce of over one million employees could look dramatically different within the next few years.
Amazon’s fulfilment centres — once bustling with human workers sorting, packing, and shipping — will be dominated by fleets of intelligent robots handling most repetitive tasks.
The grand replacement vision is part of Amazon’s broader strategy to ‘cut costs and increase efficiency’ as competition in the e-commerce space intensifies.
By replacing manual labour with AI-driven machines, the company aims to “…process orders faster, reduce operational errors, and deliver products with greater precision”.
At present, the robotic workforce is already set to soon become larger than the human workforce, and with this new strategy set for the next two years, the gap looks set to widen.

At the heart of this transformation are advanced robotics systems like Proteus and Sequoia, capable of navigating crowded warehouses autonomously.
These machines are equipped with sensors, cameras, and AI algorithms that allow them to move, lift, and sort packages without human supervision.
Amazon’s automation plan also extends beyond warehouses.
Insiders claim Amazon is exploring AI-driven logistics and delivery operations, including self-driving delivery vehicles and drone shipping programs.
Together, these technologies could streamline the company’s supply chain — but they could also disrupt tens of thousands of traditional delivery jobs over the coming decade.
Indeed, Amazon have positioned themselves as a pioneer in the space of replacing human labour in favour of robotics, and we will be lucky to see even 5% of the workforce with a biological face over the coming decades if they have their way.

ROBOTIC REPLACEMENT
While the masses remain distracted by manufactured stories and intentional divisive propaganda, the entire workforce as we know it is slowly being overthrown.
Australians are already losing work to AI, but the impact so far has been largely hidden from view – partly obscured by employers attributing AI-influenced cuts to a range of factors, while making little or no mention of AI in their rationale.
For example, 121 positions were recently made redundant by the ASX-listed Endeavour Group, which owns a number of retail brands such as Dan Murphy’s, BWS and Jimmy Brings.
Myer, Coles and Woolworths are also some of the major players that have already been on a mission to switch towards “automated workforces” in Australia.

Myer’s new national distribution centre, for example, features more than 200 autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) running off three different AMR technologies: The Geek+ RS8 Shuttle, P800s, and Körber’s sortation solution.
If things are allowed to continue like this, huge numbers of workers will be out of a job over the coming decades, with little done to address these concerns so far.
One 2015 analysis from the Committee of Economic Development of Australia warned that more than five million jobs could disappear in the next 15 years because of technological advancements, and this was before applications like ChatGPT hit the marketplace.
