A major backtrack that has caused outrage.
EPSTEIN CONTROVERSY
The U.S. Justice Department and White House have scrambled this week to explain a significant walk back from promises of explosive information involving accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and his alleged clientele.
A Justice Department memo on Epstein, released on Monday, concluded that after reviewing more than 300 gigabytes of data, there was “no incriminating client list”, nor was there any evidence that Epstein may have blackmailed prominent people.
The memo also confirmed prior findings by the FBI which concluded that Epstein died by suicide in his jail cell while awaiting trial, and not as a result of a criminal act.
“While we have labored to provide the public with maximum information regarding Epstein and ensured examination of any evidence in the government’s possession,” the memo read.
“It is the determination of the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation that no further disclosure would be appropriate or warranted.”
Jail cell footage was released to supposedly support these claims, although an entire minute is missing from the film. Speaking of footage, they say we won’t see the release of any content from Epstein’s collection soon either, because ‘it’s all child pornography’.
Their explanation for the gap in footage? Attorney General, Pam Bondi, says this was attributable to a ‘longstanding technical snafu’, and not specific to that particular night.
And that’s it. Nothing to see here, folks. Time to move along.
A remarkable turn of events for an administration that championed ‘uncovering the secrets’ of this case, from government officials, to soon-to-be intelligence officers.
In one instance, Attorney General Pam Bondi earlier this year said the Justice Department was poring over a “truckload” of previously withheld evidence.
“It’s sitting on my desk right now to review,” Bondi told Fox News in February when she was asked if the Justice Department would be releasing Epstein’s client list.
On Tuesday at the White House, however, Bondi walked that comment back, telling reporters that she was referring to the entire Epstein “file” – along with other files pertaining to the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr.
“That’s what I meant by that,” she said.
Trump’s Press Secretary was tasked with questions on this changing narrative from reporters.
What is going on here?
This huge development comes weeks after FBI Director Kash Patel — who reports to Bondi — and FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, a former conservative podcaster, both previously made statements before joining the administration about a client list.
“Put on your big boy pants and let us know who the paedophiles are,” Patel said on a YouTube show hosted by Trump supporter Benny Johnson in 2023.
Bongino asked this year before he joined the FBI: “Who’s on the Epstein tapes, folks? Who’s on those tapes? Who’s in those black books? Why have they been hiding it?”
Both Patel and Bongino often suggested the government was hiding information about Epstein from the public, but in a joint interview in April, they changed their tone.
All of a sudden, both began to claim they ‘had reviewed all information’ and that it was ‘clear to them the 66-year-old killed himself’.
Kash made an appearance on Joe Rogan to discuss his conclusion, in perhaps one of the most awkward interviews or podcasts of the entire year.
Something smells very rotten, and we are not likely to get any answers to this.
A day after the news, Donald Trump lost patience with reporters as he was asked about Epstein during the prelude to a cabinet meeting.
“This guy’s been talked about for years,” Trump said in reaction to reporters.
“Are people still talking about this guy? This creep? That is unbelievable. Do you want to waste the time?”
This is a very bad look for the Trump administration.
Just like that, we see once again that Trump is just as part of the establishment as anyone else, a concept we have discussed at length here on the website.
The backlash to this has been huge, with even some of the most faithful Trump supporters expressing outrage, along with some of the world’s commentators.
THE WORLD REACTS
In expected fashion, the response to this news has been the number one trending topic in the world, with every personality you can think of throwing their two cents in.
Alex Jones, in an emotional post on what he characterised as an “Epstein coverup”, said that the “…Trump administration has become part of it; you cannot see it another way.”
Tucker Carlson, on the Breaking Points podcast hosted by Saagar Enjeti, raised the prospect that “…intel services are at the very centre of this story, U.S. and Israeli, and they’re being protected.”
He also called the conclusion a “joke”, but “one we are all in on”.
Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, a former Trump adviser who is promising to form a rival political party, posted Tuesday on his X platform:
Even Donald Trump’s MAGA base has erupted in outrage over memo, with many of the President’s most loyal allies blasting the administration’s leadership.
Jeffrey Epstein’s brother, Mark Epstein, publicly criticised the Trump administration’s handling of the investigation into Jeffrey’s death following the news.
In an interview, Mark expressed disbelief at the conclusion that Jeffrey died by suicide.
“Every time they say something or do something to try to quash the fact that he was most likely murdered, they just put their foot further down their mouth.”
From comedians to streamers, it seems that absolutely nobody is buying this story.
The Trump administration now faces the dilemma of two narratives: Either they are covering something up, or there actually is nothing there and the whole Epstein narrative was designed to garner more support for these characters.
Either way, they have really backed themselves into a corner here.
Which makes you beg the question: If they are covering something up on this large of a scale, what else could they be covering up?

I’m not surprised Trump went back on his promise to release the Epstein files, just like he did back in 2016 when he said he was going to hire a special prosecutor to prosecute Hilary Clinton, remember that? These people are only in it for themselves and the masters they serve. Remember what George Carlin once said, “It’s a big club and you ain’t in it! You and I are not in the big club!”
