The path to government-mandated ‘shedding’.
AIRCON CONTROL?
It is a very creepy thought: The government, alongside energy companies, controlling your aircon. Especially here in Queensland where the last few days have been especially humid.
But this isn’t some science fiction plot twist, it is something that could soon become a reality.
Just a week after Sydney residents were warned of ‘sweeping blackouts’ on the first hot day of the season, a university professor has claimed the government, to combat this ‘energy crisis’, could install “widgets” in people’s homes to control their air conditioner temperature and limit the use of power on hot days.
Monash University Associate Professor, Roger Dargaville, who is a “large-scale energy system transition optimisation expert”, told reporters that the “widgets” in homes could be installed so a power provider or the government could enforce temperature settings or ‘economy mode’.
“You’ll still have the same services available to you. These will be automatic and in the background,” Dr. Dargaville told the Melbourne publication.
“There will be a period of adjustment, but it will be become normalised.”
The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) has already used its powers to attempt to pay some residents to lessen their usage, as the country’s sub-par power grid struggles.
However, this is a whole new level of control. If the government or energy providers take control of Australian air conditioner temperature settings, a ‘frightening‘ third world dystopia will have truly arrived.
Nationals MP Keith Pitt claims every Australian is entitled to have a reliable energy supply that they can afford, and slammed the idea that the government should enact control like this to achieve the goal.
“I just think this is mad,” Pitt told reporters this week.
“The idea that Big Brother can reach into your household and determine what your air conditioner will be set at, whether you can cook a chicken or not, whether you’re allowed to put your clothes dryer on, all because the network is in a disastrous state.”
“It’s not the Australian people’s fault. It’s the Australian government’s fault,” he continued.
And, this plan isn’t as ‘far out’ as you might think, despite only this professor being highlighted.
Queensland’s state-owned power grid provider Energex remotely turned down almost 170,000 air conditioners six times in the past two months, as part of a scheme to ‘protect the electricity network’.
The possibility of greater control, specifically with the government watching over, is only a ‘flick of the switch’ away if they so choose to do it.
Our privately-owned electricity networks are already controlled by a small team in a secretive location, and the third world has already experienced forms of control through what is known as ‘load shedding’.
Australia, in our descent to a third world nation, may soon be on a path to experience the same.
ENERGY POVERTY
Inside of a secret room at an undisclosed location in Sydney, half-a-dozen engineers are employed by the AEMO to operate a control room that regulates distribution of power generation to 80% of Australia.
AEMO is responsible for operating Australia’s largest gas and electricity systems, including the National Electricity Market (NEM) – the interconnected power system in Australia’s eastern and south-eastern seaboard. The group also control the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) in Western Australia.
The control room for this regulation has been described as the “brain centre” – a high-tech HQ filled with large computer screens running algorithms and various forms of technical equipment.
They regulate an energy network that has already been largely sold off to foreign corporations from China and the United States, as well as other countries.
So, we must also ask the question: Which government will be tapping in?
Now, you might be asking, what is the reason for all of this?
Energy rations will soon become a massive part of the Agenda 2030 plan, as we warned about many years ago, as the world is brought down to third world standards collectively.
Increasing demand and supply shortages in third world countries are largely regulated with planned power outages, and there are numerous examples of these programs at present day.
Known as ‘load shedding’, it is commonplace for citizens in these countries to all of a sudden go hours without power as a way to ‘sustain the energy grid’.
Make no mistake, this little ‘idea’ to control air conditioners is a gateway to these programs.
Just this week, Australians are being warned to prepare for a “tough” summer of rolling power blackouts as the country’s grid buckles under growing pressure.
That claim was repeated by federal opposition energy spokesman Ted O’Brien, who said the Albanese government’s push to slash carbon emissions had “consigned Australians to energy poverty”.
The systematic destruction coal-fired plants in recent years has also helped accelerate this ‘problem’, with several more to follow in the coming decade, for which the government will offer the ‘solution’.

Correct me if I am wrong but don’t “they” need a “Smart Meter” to be able to enable controling remotely?
It’s funny because many Air Conditioners sold nowadays come with a feature called D.R.E.D (Demand Response Enabled Device) which allows energy companies to control your air conditioner during peak demand. Although it does require additional setup for it to work, but make no mistake eventually it will be setup by default when it comes to new builds and new installs!
