Dr. Michael Gannon, the West Australian President of the Australian Medical Association recently appeared on ABC’s ‘The World Today’ to speak about his concern for an increase decline in vaccination rates in the state.
During the interview, he said that parents choosing to not vaccinate their children are committing a form of child abuse, and said that non-vaccination causes a major threat to the child and his/her peers.
“…This is not for one moment to diminish, you know, the horrific crimes put onto children in other circumstances,” said Dr. Gannon.
“…but denying your child and denying its little cousins, its schoolmates and its friends, the clear benefits of vaccination is something which potentially impairs their future potential.”
